Nurses are schemed on by former carer Claudia, I wouldn't advise an intelligent professional Nurse to work there .keep your integrity stay away.find a professional Manager to work under .don't link your self to lies and fake impressions. Life of patients are precious. Work under sanity not that place, willows. Don't risk your pin

Recently joined Willows care home. Extremely nice place to work. Everyone in every department working so hard to make a positive difference to our residents lives. Everyone is so supportive and although some days are harder than others we still laugh..... a lot....honoured to be working with such amazing people that go the extra mile. Thank you all!

This review concerns only an enquiry about a bed for my NHS funded 94 year old father-in-law currently in 'palliative' care at Queen's Hospital. Last week I rang the home to arrange a visit on the basis it said it did have such vacancy. Why else would I waste my time making a visit? During the subsequent visit my wife and I repeated the funding status to the receptionist and completed an enquiry form making clear the requirement was for an NHS funded bed space. At no time were were told this would be an issue. Today, speaking to a different receptionist, were were told the home had a limit of 12 NHS funded beds and they were all occupied. Given the other reviews, incompetence and/or zero training seems to be confined to one or more of the administrative staff and, happily for the residents, not the carers. IMPORTANT UPDATE...... shortly after the review above and the Manager's apology, a NHS funded bed at the Willows became available. Despite our reservations my father-in-law expressed a firm wish to accept it. We respected his wishes and were glad we did. He died there last week but the standard of care given could not be faulted, especially given that he had an especially unpleasant medical condition which was difficult and time-consuming to treat. Further, although my father-in-law was not in a condition to take full advantage of any of the facilities on offer we we nonetheless impressed by the standard of catering, the garden area and the wide range of activities on offer for clients. If we had a criticism it would be that for understandable 'health and safety' reasons, bedroom doors are never closed and it is very difficult, if not impossible, to experience peace and quiet. The same point of course applies to ALL CARE HOMES in our experience of them. In view of this update, I have upgraded the review rating to 4 stars. Note that I have not received any inducement from the Willows to post this further review.

Excellent place where they really care. I spent a month there recovering from a badly broken ankle. I can't praise them enough. The manager and the staff were Brilliant. I'm not old enough yet but if i ever end up in a care home I hope it's this one.
