Our charity was founded in 1946 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle. Known as the Hexham and Newcastle Diocesan Rescue Society, it provided residential care for orphaned children in the aftermath of World War II. Throughout the decades, our charity has gradually expanded and diversified.

Hillcrest Care Home is located in the pretty historic town of Alnwick, within easy reach of local shops, public transport and the A1(M). The home offers Nursing Care, Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care.

Summerhill is a warm and tastefully decorated residential home with a friendly “home away from home” feel. We pride ourselves on providing high quality care to all of our residents. We now also provide high quality care to those living with dementia. Summerhill is registered with CQC to accommodate 29 residents in single bedrooms, all en-suite and fully equipped.

We deliver person-centered Hospice at Home services across North Northumberland, offering practical and emotional care and support to adults aged 18 years and over, who are living with a terminal illness, requiring palliative input.
