Ashton Park Residential Home is a large detached two story building located in a residential area in Newport City Centre. The home is registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) to provide accommodation and personal care for 18 older people. High standards of care are aspired 24 hours a day with fully qualifies and trained staff towards maintaining a warm, pleasant, and homely atmosphere. Abbeyfield Newport was built by local ship builder Mr John Henry Carney in 1895-1896. It remained a family home until Abbeyfield purchased the building in 1992 and opened its door to its first residents in 1993.
