Chetwynd House

I don’t know what words to describe this place. The place has become the worst care home there is, the staff is flooded by agency staff. Staff come and go constantly and the new manager is just utterly disappointing. It breaks my heart to see how much this place has gone down hill in the past year. It’s scary to know how they are still open CQC need to really do something about this place.

While some individual members of staff are certainly kind, I would seriously advise against choosing Chetwynd House for yourself or for someone you care about. To describe the home as mis-managed would be an understatement. During the six months my Aunt was resident there until her death, the communication was non-existent and there were a series of absolutely awful blunders, including a serious breach of medical Power of Attorney. While the manager apologised and promised change, including better communication, this never materialised. She has no genuine empathy for those in her care and is simply interested in surface appearances. We did complain to Adept, Chetwynd's management company, but they were equally complacent and ineffective, with communication also very poor. If you have any significant care needs, please think twice before considering Chetwynd House.

My mother in law has been in here since Wednesday of this week. Wow! What a place, the staff are amazingly friendly, the atmosphere is friendly, inviting and totally relaxed. You can tell that the ethos of all the staff is excellent. We booked early Saturday morning to have lunch yesterday. This was not a problem (they do prefer 24 hours notice) the food was first class, tasty and well presented, you really do feel like you are in a restaurant. The rooms are exceptional and have everything you need, the dining room and lounge are comfortable, the bedrooms are spacious, the bathrooms are 5 🌟 quality with luxurious fittings. The heating is underfloor heating, this is totally controllable with a thermostat in each room enabling you obtain the perfect temperature. I cannot praise the place enough. Everything is perfect 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Recently started my employment at Adept Two months ago. since starting I've been made to feel very welcome within my employment. the standards that chetwynd have for the residents and staff are beyond amazing I couldn't ask for better home to have the pleasure of working at and also the progression within the company is great as id like to progress to a home a manager one day. I couldn't be happier with the home manger Claire Gordon-Rundle who is very supporting towards the staff and residents. not many home's have managers who make the time to spend the time with the residents but Claire makes it her priority to spend time with the residents and talk to them. this is what homes are about. I've only put 5 starts for the home as there isn't anymore stars to give. I rate this home 10/10
