A fantastic care home with superb staff that made my fathers four-year stay a safe and happy experience with much joy. We cannot speak more highly of the care, activities and comfort staff at Lavender Oaks provided. My father absolutely adored the staff and had a very happy four years in a care home we couldn't recommend more highly. We will miss all the staff and Dad's fellow residents and friends. Thank you all for an amazing four years in which my father found happiness, laughter and comfort. You are all stars! Dave Connor (son of Ian Connor 19.02.34 - 11.04.24)

I’ve worked as the hairdresser in Lavender Oaks since the home opened and I absolutely love it! The staff are so friendly and the nurses and carers are amazing! All my clients love coming to have their hair done every week and it’s so lovely to see how happy they all are. It’s a beautiful clean, well organised home.

Welcoming, bright and luxurious care home set in spacious grounds. The residents seem very happy and content in their surroundings. Has the feel of a 5* hotel

I had the opportunity to visit this care Home recently, and I found it to be vibrant and very welcoming. The cleanliness of the home and its surroundings is top notch but the most striking aspect of the home is the staff . They are excellent in caring for the residents and they communicate well with their family and relatives. They are very good in what they do and the residents look happy and well looked after. I was really impressed.

I regularly visit many care homes, and Lavender Oaks is the best . The home itself and its location, is of course very beautiful, but what matters the most are the people that work there. Every member of staff I've ever come across in every department are brilliant. They are always pleasant and welcoming, hard working, and 100% dedicated to the residents. Alison the activities coordinator is fab 👏

This care home has been amazing and my mother is cared for like a member of the family. Rachelle Minter is an exceptional manager and the whole team in Mariposa and beyond always make time for both residents and family. Every member of staff frequently go above and beyond expectations. I cannot recommend Lavender Oaks enough and am so very grateful for the care, dedication and professionalism they show at all times.

I had the opportunity to see this place. It's more than just Care Home. Located in a beautiful and quiet place. It's very nice inside, everything is new and the rooms are spacious. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Lavender Oaks care home is tucked away in a nice quiet area in Carshalton . The home is Beautiful inside and out ! The home provides Person centred care for all residents from Nursing,Residential and Dementia. This ensure all residents receive Tailored care to suit them. The team are a close net group who are always welcoming to new staff members. They are always helping one another to build new skills to ensure they meet the needs of all residents. The team are Harding working ,loving, caring and fun bunch to be around. A lot of care homes you can walk around at it maybe beautiful but there is not the FAMILY atmosphere you need to not only live in but to work in as an employee. I personally have worked in some amazing homes with great designs and grand entrances and promises but none of them will feel like HOME ! Lavender Oaks has always felt like one big family from the many Nans and Granddads you will have to the work family your be part of. It will always be one of the best choices I made.

Lavender Oaks is a lovely place to visit. It is beautifully decorated and the end of life care for my friend was handled very sensitively by the staff on Oaks. They could not have done more to make the last few weeks with my dear friend so special and her comfort and passing, so peaceful. I also wish to convey my personal thanks to Sue Stutter for everything she did. She is a fantastic Care Manager and always goes the extra mile to help in any way she can.

Since November the staff have tried their best to get dad comfortable and to meet his needs . We are very happy here with the room food most carers and generally all the staff. The new manager is very special and does commit herself totally to making the place a very special one for the residents and their families and for the staff .

Lavender oaks is a beautiful home, decorated to the highest standards and has the team to match. As soon as you enter you are made to feel welcome by the friendly reception team and the general manager who's door is always open for a chat if needed. The care team are always smiling and laughter can always be heard, the residents receive the highest standard of care from a well trained team. The in home trainer gives the staff the training the need to successfully fulfill their role and is always searching for ways to improve the knowledge and skill set of the team. The activities team do an amazing job of turning what could be a boring day in to something exciting at the drop of a hat. The residents have access to a stunning garden all year round, often enjoying a bbq or a glass of wine in the sun. It does not feel like a care home it simply feels like a home where everyone is treated like family.

Although this is a beautiful building, is clean, has fantastic bedrooms and great food, it is only suitable for residents with simple needs and definitely not a good choice for those with advanced dementia who require skilled and knowledgeable input from staff trained in dementia care. Although the home advertises itself as offering dementia care, our experience suggests that dementia care is very basic and most staff are not adequately trained or equipped to manage any challenging needs. There is a secured dementia unit with only one lounge so no area to go if a resident needs a quiet space, very necessary for many with dementia. The home may appear beautifully decorated but it is not decorated to meet the needs of people with dementia and lack of signage, clocks and colour schemes is contrary to suggestions in dementia research. My mother had challenging behaviour needs and therefore needed to be away from other residents at times. She therefore spent most of the time in her bedroom alone, the activities were aimed at groups and did not consider her and she became increasingly distressed. Apart from the deputy manager who was excellent, the qualified nursing staff displayed a lack of appreciation that her distress was part of her illness, lacked insight into how to reassure her and lacked knowledge about when to use and not use appropriate medications and did not work well with the local mental health team to get it right for my mother. I was called to the home repeatedly day and night to manage her care as the staff were unable to cope with her needs. Attitudes of health care assistants were mixed: some were absolutely fantastic and others demonstrated a total lack of insight using phrases such as 'playing up' and 'creating' to describe her behaviour, showing a lack of both professionalism and insight. Although this is a beautiful home superficially, it is definitely not suitable for residents who have any complex mental health needs or challenging behaviour and require specialist dementia care. When placing a relative here it may be worth considering that if their mental health deteriorates, the home is unlikely to let them stay, causing further upheaval for the resident.

This was our first, and most distressing, experience of our journey navigating our way through this fractured sector of care. Lavender Oaks 'carer' has now finally been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm against our dear mother!! CAMPAIGN FOR CAMERAS IN CAREHOMES!

This is a beautiful care home but don't judge book by its cover. Care workers work endlessly for "chicken feed", often without proper breaks and time to take a breath. Some of the carers developed health problem because of shortage, wrong work culture and had been kindly forced to leave , others- work under a huge dose of stress risking their own health and safety, intimidated. All these issues strongly affect some residents well-being. Shortage, lack of proper manual handling trainings, lack of appreciation from managers, poor communication and very low salary inadequate to workload and skills, qualification and experience are the result of this situation. Deputy manager and care manager are sweet as cherries but helpless in dealing with difficult area of care.

Beautiful looking place but it is being run by people who pay the staff peanuts. The management treat the workers like paid slaves. A very telling point when a manager tells staff members that work is much more important than personal life. Long 12 hour shifts and under staffing is the norm. Not a place I would ever recommend. Avoid.

What an absolutely lovely place. The manager and her team are fantastic and could not do more for the residents they care for. They should be very proud :-)
