I have worked at farnworth care home for nearly six years I started of as an health care assistent for 3 years, then I changed my role as an activity coordinator which I enjoy, I like working for farnworth care home. In October 23 I was given the opportunity to up my role to lead well-being coordinator with the help and support from the home manager jayms.

I have now work for Farnworth care home for two years, I have found it to be a welcoming and enjoyable place to work where I have been allowed to develop my skills, but what I have enjoyed most is the fulfillment of working with our residents and seeing how happy and healthy they are.

I have worked at farnworth care home for 5 years now on the first floor. All staff support each other and provide a high level of care to the residents.

My aunt lives upstairs and we've never experienced nothing but the best with the staff upstairs BUT for the past couple of months I have been getting concerned about the staff downstairs especially the SENIORS sat at the DESK near the lift with all their VAPES and just blowing out their smokes regardless of who is there with them ,. I as a family of the residents SEE this as a massive disrespect and a SLAP in the face of our residents and family members because we put our loved ones in a home to be looked after and cared for not to be vaped around. It's so disrespectful to the managements as well as it is being done when they are in office , almost all the staffs downstairs have VAPES in their pockets and I have witnessed two staff living the resident room with one having IT in her mouth and didn't bother to put it away after seeing me go into lift , two of the seniors have got VAPES on their lips as if it their oxygen. I don't think our loved ones should be around people like this as smoking and vaping should not be allowed in a care home settings.i asked one of them to let me out and all she did was put vape back in pocket didn't give a damn if I saw it or not . What a disgrace from downstairs floor!!

My mother recently passed away here, I cannot thank them enough for all the care they gave to mum while she was there. So caring ,patient and kind and always had time to talk to her. All the staff treated mum with dignity and respect, Special thanks to sue for her kindness and empathy to annie and us. And thanks to james for his help. Our thanks to you all. Chris and cath briely.

Lovely welcoming staff very helpful and considerate nothing to much trouble really do feel like my family member is well looked after in their care would recommend this home to others.

lovely caring staff, happy friendly environment, manager doesn't hide in his office, receptionists helpful and cheerful. special thanks to Amy and Dee on Firwood 🤗 couldn't do enough during my mum's temporary stay, and not just for residents but their families too. thank you ❤️ clean and good food, activities going on most days taking note of residents interests 👍

Wonderful attentive and kind staff Beena, Claire, Collette, Tina and Stefan managed by Mr. Bell true compassion here. Cheerfully look after my Mum who suffers from Vascular Dementia with genuine kindness and compassion. Amazing place. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou xx

Farnworth care home has cared for my grandma for over a year, until she sadly passed away this week. The carers have been absolutely amazing especially Stefan and Nicola. There are more I just didn't get their name's. All staff have gone above and beyond to make my grandma comfortable, always acted professionally and been attentive. Thank you all for your help and support!! You are all amazing and your appreciated more than you will ever know. We found all members of staff to be friendly and welcoming.

Farnworth Care Home treated our mum and all the family with kindness and respect from start to finish. They also did everything they promised us in a timely manner. The home is clean and well kept and all facilities can be used by family members. Thank you to all the staff on floor 2.

I'm posting this as a warning to others who provide musical therapy and/or entertainment for those on a dementia journey. I have to say that the staff there all seemed really nice and engaged well with residents. Their manual handling technique wasn't the best though. I provided a music therapy session on the 1st of November which, all false modesty aside, the residents really enjoyed but I've still not been paid for it. Not only that, the attitude of the administrator at the home and the staff at the head office has been downright flippant. Be very very careful accepting a booking here.
