I absolutely love working as a care assistant for Ann’s. I feel completely supported by my manager who is always on the other side of the phone and is always very approachable. I have worked for Anns for just under a year and I couldn’t have asked for a lovelier team to work with and also the clients are lovely and it makes my day seeing them all. I cannot recommend this company enough and to anyone who is considering applying for a job with them, you will not regret it because they are great!

Great company, care provided to clients is excellent and carers get on very well with my family member. Any issues that arise are sorted very quickly. Staff do everything the can to help the clients. Highly recommend Ann’s

I have terminal cancer and am on oxygen. After spending a month in hospital I was very weak and a care package was put in place. I was supposed to have 30 minutes in the morning for two carers to help me get washed and dressed at the sink but I only ever got 10 minutes. There were many different carers calling so you were never able to build a relationship with them. Out of all of them there were only two really professional carers who took the time to get to know you. They asked you what you wanted them to do and stood back and let you do as much as you could for yourself and the parts you could not wash or reach they stepped in to help you with. This gave the patient dignity and being so sick it felt good that someone cared about you. On dressing they you which piece of clothing you wanted on first. However when the regular professional carers had a day off I had two new carers one a young girl with serious attitude. They were both not happy that I wanted to wash some parts of my body myself and were very rough and abrupt in their attitude. They wanted to get in and out of the house as soon as possible so it was easier for the two of them to wash you at once which is disorientating for the patient. When helping me to get dressed in tandem they tried to put my vest over my head at the same time as pulling my tights on without rolling them down to put them on properly and when I objected saying it made me feel disorientated but they said they didn't know what I was on about. Then they tried to make me stand up to pull my skirt over my feet and I objected again as I would be prone to fall over and the skirt usually went over my head when I was sitting down on the perching stool. I asked them to empty the small incontinence bathroom bin, but it wasn't on the care plan list but they emptied it but left the bin strewn on the floor with the lid off and no new bag put in it. After the rough handling I was shocked to see what the younger carer had written in the care book "Paranoid this morning and accused of attacking" which is totally untrue. I immediately phoned Anns Home Care to complain and they said it would be investigated but it never was. They phoned the district nurse to say that they thought I was lying about the carers but I had never had a problem with other carers and there are no other derogatory remarks by any other carers written about me in the care book. I feel very let down by this hit and miss "caring" service and feel that some of the staff are not trained to a professional standard but they are so short staffed anyone will do. Patients are left with no alternative but to put cameras in so that the truth of a potentially abusive situation can be backed up in law. i was told that I would have to accept the two carers who I feel abused me as Ann's Home Care had no one else to send out but as I refused I have been left with no care at all. You don't need the worry when you are seriously ill. I would not recommend this care company as I dont feel they listen to the client needs or experiences and don't vet their carers carefully enough.

Ann's Home Care looked after my Granny. The carers were always friendly, nothing was ever a bother. Couldn't have asked for a better service.
